From reading the comments of my recent Thanksgiving post, it seems that I am not the only one who was enraptured with the latest James Bond film, Skyfall (2012), directed by Sam Mendes featuring Daniel Craig. Because I know too little about the specifics of the tailoring and suits in general, I would be hard-pressed to do a fully informative satisfying post on the sartorial choices of the film. In its place, I've collected a series of articles and relevant readings on not just the fashion but the whole film in general that I hope would help satiate your hunger for all things Skyfall and Bond. There will be varying degrees of spoilerage in each article so please read on at your own discretion:
- NYMag review of the film
- Behind the scenes video
- HuffPo's satorial commentary on Bond
- "James Bond gets a six pack"
- The real deserted island in the film
- Bond Girl feature of Bérénice Marlohe
- A Critical Review of the soundtrack
- Examining the bisexual undertones of Bond
- Bond and Sexual Politics on Vanity Fair
- Skyfall Bloopers
- Q+A with Skyfall costume designer, Jany Temime
- GQ The Stream's Review of the film
- On the Style Evolution of Daniel Craig (cough hehasreallycomealongway cough)
- Red Carpet style of the Bond Premiere
- Interview with the awesome and amazing Javier Bardem. I love me a batshit crazy villain à la Joker from TDK and I'm so glad Bardem went full on cray.
- Q+A with Ben Whitshaw (Q/Quartermaster). Am I the only one who is crushing way harder on the adorkable Q than Bond?
- On GQ's Lust List 2012 is Bond Girl of the year, Bérénice Marlohe. While I hate the idea of a lust list for obvious feminist reasons, I have to admit she was utterly gorgeous in the film.
